Haya Al-Sulaiti
During the past 15 years, I have divided my professional journey between academia and analytical services. This journey includes positions at the Supreme Council of Health (2010-2013), the Anti-Doping Lab Qatar (2013-2022), and Qatar University (Fall 2022-current).
After earning a Ph.D. degree from University of Groningen in April 2020, I worked at Doping Analysis Laboratory and Qatar APMU, (ADLQ) as a postdoctoral fellow. I skilled in analytical and biochemistry, with experience in utilizing mass spectrometry (LC-MS) techniques, specifically in metabolomics and lipidomics analysis. Strong experience in developing LC-MS methods for new services and research, including the detection and analysis of vitamin D, amino acids, organic acids, drugs of abuse, and doping substances in athletic samples. Supervising and leading several LC-MS projects with proficient in using a variety of LC-MS instruments.
I am currently established and leading the Metabolomics LC-MS platform in QU which is significant providing the support to colleagues and clients on the research not only for Qatar university, but for entire country. Application of my analytical services experience in academic research results in publishing extensively in high-impact journals. My teaching experience as a research associate/lecturer extends to participation in various courses at Qatar University.
In addition to research and teaching experiences, I’m serving a role as Official Spokesperson and focal point for the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Capacity building on emerging and re-emerging zoonotic diseases in QU.
