Christopher Ashwood

Dr. Christopher Ashwood has established himself as a prominent figure in glycoscience, beginning with his doctoral research in analytical glycobiology under Prof. Nicolle H. Packer at Macquarie University in Australia. Following his PhD, Dr. Ashwood expanded his expertise through post-doctoral research in the American Midwest, where he advanced methodologies for glycan analysis and characterization. His career trajectory led him to Harvard Medical School, where he directed the Harvard Medical School Center for Glycoscience Glycomics Core facility under the mentorship of Prof. Richard D. Cummings, contributing significantly to innovations in glycomic profiling techniques and bioinformatics tools for complex carbohydrate analysis. He currently serves as the director of Protea Glycosciences, where he leads efforts to develop and commercialize cutting-edge analytical technologies aimed at accelerating glycoscience research across academic and pharmaceutical sectors, particularly focusing on glycoprotein characterization for therapeutic applications and biomarker discovery.
