Paula Nissen
Paula Nissen is a PhD candidate in her second year in a Joint PhD Program between the University of Hamburg and Macquarie University, researching proteomics and glycoproteomics of colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRC-LM) in the groups of Prof. Hartmut Schlüter and A./Prof. Morten Thaysen-Andersen.
She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from the University of Hamburg, specializing in mass spectrometric proteomics. Since 2021, she has gained extensive experience in the field as a student assistant in Prof. Schlüter’s group. During her Master's, she completed an internship in Prof. Mark Molloy’s lab at the University of Sydney, focusing on CRC-LM proteomic profiling.
At Aus-Omics, Paula will present "Layer-wise NIRL Ablation of Human Cornea for Spatial Proteomics Reveals Detailed Insight into Structure", a side project applying spatial proteomics to study corneal structure.
